ABOUT US
In a world where challenges often overshadow hope, there emerges a beacon of light in the form of Ntombodidi Nkala, lovingly known as “Dee.” Born on the 4th of October, 1975, in the picturesque former Transkei, now known as the Eastern Cape, Dee is a South African woman with an indomitable spirit and a heart overflowing with compassion. She is a proud mother of three, a dedicated teacher, and the founder of Brigades Youth Development, an organization on a mission to transform lives and chase away the shadows of poverty.
Dee’s journey began in the tranquil town of Cala, nestled in the Eastern Cape, where she learned the values of compassion, community, and resilience. These principles have since become the cornerstones of her life’s work.
By profession, Dee is a teacher, dedicating her time and skills to educating young minds in one of the disadvantaged schools in Ivory Park, Gauteng Province. Yet, her passion extends far beyond the classroom.

Freeing the Destitute from Chains of Poverty: She believes in the power of empowerment and strives to uplift individuals and families burdened by the weight of poverty.
Taking Care of Child-Headed Families: In a world where children often bear the responsibility of their households, Dee stands as a guardian angel, providing not only material support but also love and guidance. Supporting Victims of Abuse, Especially Substance Abuse: Substance abuse can shatter lives, but Dee is there to mend the pieces. She offers support, rehabilitation, and a path to recovery. Bringing Back Self-Confidence and Hope for a Better Tomorrow: Dee’s work is not just about meeting immediate needs; it’s about restoring dignity and fostering dreams.

Her mission is equally profound. Through soup kitchens and tireless efforts, she dreams of creating a home of safety, a sanctuary where those in need can find refuge and solace. But Dee’s remarkable journey isn’t a solitary one. It’s a testament to the power of family and love. She’s able to do what she does because of the unwavering support of her loved ones, a team bound together by a shared commitment to making the world a better place.
